We screened Gawai Dayak: Roots & Rituals today, for the children of our community inside a real Iban longhouse, where it truly belongs.

Made in a longhouse, and now shared in one.

As the director, it mattered deeply to me that the first people to watch this series are the ones whose stories it carries. This isn’t just about documenting culture, it’s about bringing it home.

We kept it simple. A small quiz for the kids, some laughs, and hopefully a spark that helps them stay curious about their own roots.

This isn’t just another project for me. It’s personal. It’s my legacy.

We screened Gawai Dayak: Roots & Rituals today, for the children of our community inside a real Iban longhouse, where it truly belongs.
